Leaders Wanted

Leaders Wanted!

Interested in becoming the leader of a Paladin Small Church Community?

Three Requirements

  1. A Paladin SCC Leader must be a living, growing disciple.
  2. A Paladin SCC Leader must be a faithful Roman Catholic.
  3. A Paladin SCC Leader must read and follow our guidelines.

First, Paladin SCC Leader Must Be Growing Disciples

  • Has developed a heart for God that motivates his/her attitudes and actions.
  • Is willing to make any sacrifices to grow, even change his/her schedule.
  • Observable changes in attitudes and actions can be seen.
  • Is committed to chastity, sobriety, and excellence in their state of life.
  • Consistent in continually growing in the basic habits of the Christian life, including but not limited to:
    • Seeks interior growth through daily prayer with Scripture and spiritual reading (John 1:1-18; Ephesians 6:18)
    • Grows in sanctification through the reception of the sacraments (Acts 2:42)
    • Builds character through the virtues and the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-16)
    • Accepts suffering and uses it to unite him/her to Christ (Colossians 1:24)
    • Practices the spiritual and corporal works of mercy (Matthew 25:31-46)
    • Is open to the Holy Spirit (John 16:7; 12-13)

(The above description of a growing disciples comes from FOCUS, as adapted from The Fuel & the Flame: Ignite Your Life & Your Campus for Jesus Christ by Steve Shadrach and Paul Worcester, et al.)

Second, Paladin SCC Leader Must Be Faithful to the Roman Catholic Church

No cafeteria Catholics needed. No moralistic therapeutic deists. No lukewarm, irresolute Catholic-in-name-only Catholics. I don’t care if your pastor or bishop assures you that you are a faith Catholic, many tell Joe Biden the same thing.

  • I agree the primary purpose of the Roman Catholic Church is to form faithful, living, growing disciples.
  • I believe the official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • I live the traditional moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • I support the prolife position as taught by the Roman Catholic Church.
  • I support the views of gender, sex, and marriage as taught by the Roman Catholic Church.
  • I support the God-given freedoms acknowledged by the founding fathers of the United States of America.
  • I understand that globalism as a global centralization of political power and as an enforcement of global mores is against Catholic social teaching and the aforementioned freedoms.

Third, a Paladin SCC Leader Must Read and Follow Our Guidelines

  • Read “The Foundation of Life” articles (3)
  • Read and follow “The Paladin Primer” articles (4)
  • Recommended only: Please take the free course “Small Groups with Lisa Brenninkmeyer
    • NOTE: She works with large groups that break into smaller groups, thus a few things are not relevant or advantageous.

So what are the advantages of becoming a Paladin leader?

For now, the primary advantage is access to study guides for the various discussion series.

At this moment, we have Discussion Guides ready for the following books:

  • Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly
  • Life, the Universe & God: 12 Mysteries of Cosmic Importance by V.W. Malzahn
  • Deep Conversion, Deep Prayer by Thomas Dubay
  • Prayer Primer: Igniting a Fire Within by Thomas Dubay

As time goes on, we hope to offer greater support to both our leaders and their groups.

Does becoming a Paladin leader cost anything?

Nope. It is our intention to keep membership completely free. Also, we intend to keep the Discussion Guides free downloads from our site. The books for the study series obviously aren’t free, though sometimes an eBook version may be available for free.
